"Thirst for Justice" Film Screening

Friday, June 8, 2018 - 4:00pm to Saturday, June 9, 2018 - 5:45pm
The Michigan Theater Main Auditorium, 603 E. Liberty St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104

In the Spring of 2015, residents in Flint, Michigan and Sanders, Arizona proved, despite official denial, that their water was dangerously contaminated. Now, JANENE from the Navajo, African-American Flint activist NAYYIRAH, and blue-collar stay-at-home mom CHRISTINA are leading the fight for clean water. When they meet in Standing Rock at the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, it sparks a realization that not only are the stakes nationwide, but the very future of democracy is threatened. This rough cut of University of Michigan Fellow Leana Hosea's documentary is presented in support of the Mayor’s Green Fair and sponsored by the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. Live panel discussion will follow the film.
