Join AADL in the field for a tour of the USGS Great Lakes Science Center laboratories.
The Great Lakes Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey exists to meet the nation's need for scientific information for restoring, enhancing, managing, and protecting living resources and their habitats in the Great Lakes basin ecosystem. The Science Center operates via 8 field stations and 5 large Great Lakes research vessels.
The Ann Arbor Headquarters consists of two newly renovated scientific laboratories: an analytic lab for processing field samples and a 30,000 gallon aquatic research lab. This tour entails a hands-on walk through the labs and discussions about Great Lakes geography, ecology, and environmental issues as well as USGS science taking place near Detroit and across the basin.
This event is offsite, approximately 4 miles from Downtown Ann Arbor. Transportation is not provided, but the location is accessible by AAATA Route 66 and onsite parking is available.
Space is limited and registration is required by emailing fieldtrip@aadl.org. Directions will be provided upon registration.
